This week we catch up with Sophie Glover to chat about her awesome journey since jumping on board the Citywide Fitness bandwagon. Check out her story below! 👇🏽👇🏽
CF: Before finding citywide, what was your struggle? What were your biggest frustrations?
SG: Citywide was make or break for me. I’ve been overweight for as long as I can remember and before coming to Citywide was thinking very seriously about lap-band surgery. After seeing the changes that Joseph had made since starting at Citywide though I decided to give it go. I’ll never forget making Joseph come with me to see what bootcamp was all about. I sat on the stage in the auditorium petrified about what I was getting myself into!
CF: How did your struggle and frustrations affect your life? What did you feel like before you made your transformation?
SG: Before starting at Citywide I had very little self-confidence and was ashamed that I’d let myself get to a point where I was so unhappy. Every day tasks like carrying groceries up a flight of stairs were difficult. I had no motivation to get up and do anything because any kind of exercise felt hard. It felt like a vicious cycle, I was unhappy because of my weight and lack of motivation, so would comfort eat which would make the problem worse!
CF: How did our program help you?
SG: I started just coming to bootcamp, or TT:Fit as is now known. After a while though I decided that wasn’t for me and made the move to the scary TT:Strong Top Room and haven’t really looked back since! I’ve completed a couple of 28 day challenges and I find they’re beneficial for me to reset my mindset and focus again. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and am continuing to see results and improvement.
CF: How is life different for you now?
SG: Carrying groceries up a flight of stairs is no longer difficult! I have more confidence in myself than ever before. I can play with my niece and nephew at the park without having to worry that I would be able to keep up or that I’ll run out of breath. They’re all pretty simple things, but being able to do them without even having to think about them anymore is a pretty good reminder for me to keep pushing!
3 years later I’m 20kgs lighter, and now able to lift heavy shit. 😂 There’s still a ways to go but progress not perfection! 👌🏽
Sophie you have absolutely smashed it! You always push and challenge yourself! The hard work is certainly paying off!! Keep up the great work gal, you’re killing it!
Please give Soph some social media love!!
